The 2011 gaming platform described as using AMD Fusion was Quixant’s QXi-200 gaming controller. It was offered with either a single-core 1.5GHz AMD E-240 APU or a dual-core 1.6GHz AMD E-350; both integrated Radeon HD 6310 graphics. The QXi-200 was designed for gaming machines, not positioned as a conventional home gaming PC.
What the QXi-200 and AMD Fusion platform were
Quixant announced the QXi-200 in January 2011 as a gaming controller using AMD Fusion technology. AMD’s launch materials called the low-power platform Brazos and described the E-Series APUs as products for mainstream notebooks, all-in-one computers and small-form-factor desktops. Quixant applied the platform to gaming-machine control hardware.
The QXi-200 shared an architecture with Quixant’s QXi-100, which the company said made migration to the newer controller’s features and performance possible. The QXi-200 was offered in two processor configurations:

AMD’s current E-350 specification lists two cores and two threads, 2MB of L2 cache, an 18W default TDP, a 40nm process, an FT1 BGA package, DDR3/DDR3L memory support and DirectX 11 support. The 18W figure is the processor’s TDP, not a stated measurement of the complete QXi-200 system’s power draw.

What made it suitable for gaming machines
EE Times reported that the integrated Radeon HD 6310 supported DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.0 and OpenCL. It also described the QXi-200 as able to drive two independent high-resolution digital monitors and said its UVD3 multimedia engine could handle simultaneous standard-definition and high-definition video playback.
- Two displays: The controller could output to two independent digital monitors, according to EE Times’ 2011 report.
- Fanless design: The reported QXi-200 case was fanless. That mattered in gaming machines, where fans can add noise and create a reliability concern. EE Times quoted Quixant’s Julien Happich calling chip fans a major reliability problem in gaming machines.
- Power input: The report described operation from one 12V supply. It did not state the complete machine’s power consumption.
- Video decoding: UVD3 was described as supporting simultaneous SD and HD video playback.
These features describe a controller platform for an installed gaming machine. They do not establish how any particular casino or gaming title performs, nor do they show that the QXi-200 is a suitable replacement for a modern PC gaming system.

What the published performance figures do—and do not—show
AMD reported that its Zacate E-350 2011 low-power reference design lasted up to 658 minutes (10.96 hours) in an idle battery-life test and up to 258 minutes (4.34 hours) on an “active” metric using 3DMark ’06. These were AMD performance-lab results for a reference system configured with an E-350, 4GB of DDR3-1066 memory, an 11.6-inch 1366×768 display, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and a 62Wh battery.
Those figures are not independent QXi-200 tests or gaming-machine endurance measurements. The reference design’s battery test does not establish the QXi-200’s game performance, cabinet power consumption or runtime.

Can an E-350 still run a gaming machine?
The E-350 remains identifiable as a legacy embedded-platform processor, and its original design was used in the QXi-200 gaming controller. Whether a particular machine can still run its intended game depends on the board, the rest of the system and the game software; the available specifications do not establish compatibility with any specific title or current operating system.
AMD’s support page places the E-350 in a legacy support model and says no additional driver releases are planned. The listed Windows drivers include Catalyst 15.7.1 WHQL, dated July 29, 2015, and Crimson Edition 16.2.1 Beta, dated March 1, 2016. That is an old driver lifecycle, so buyers maintaining an existing machine should verify that its installed operating system and graphics stack work with the required game software rather than assuming current support.

What to look for when sourcing an E-350 system
The E-350 is an FT1 BGA processor, which is mounted in a board package rather than intended as a typical user-replaceable desktop CPU. For a replacement or restoration, the practical search is therefore more likely to be for an E-350 motherboard or a complete compatible embedded system than for a loose processor.

- Check the required display connections, memory type and power input against the installation.
- Verify the seller’s description, condition and return terms; the QXi-200’s current retail availability is not established here.
- Do not treat the E-350’s 18W TDP as the power requirement for the complete board or gaming machine.
