Sony anunció Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), una nueva opción de escalado asistido por IA para PS5. Los primeros juegos confirmados son Marvel’s Wolverine y Ghost of Yōtei, que recibirían una actualización para añadirla como opción gráfica. Sony y los estudios implicados afirman que mejora el detalle y la estabilidad de imagen, pero no publicaron cifras ni comparativas independientes que midan esa mejora.
Qué es QSSR y cómo funciona
QSSR son las siglas de Quick Spectral Super Resolution. Sony la presentó el 1 de octubre de 2026 como una biblioteca de escalado asistido por inteligencia artificial destinada a PS5. La compañía la describe como un nuevo nivel de rendimiento de su tecnología de escalado, surgido de Project Amethyst, su colaboración en gráficos de IA con AMD. Según Sony, la implementación combina una arquitectura de red neuronal simplificada con ajustes manuales para maximizar el rendimiento en PS5. El escalado asistido por IA reconstruye o mejora la imagen a partir de los datos que genera el juego; QSSR, en concreto, se integra en cada título compatible y no se presenta como un ajuste general de la consola que mejore automáticamente todos los juegos.

Qué juegos de PS5 son compatibles con QSSR
Los dos primeros títulos anunciados son Marvel’s Wolverine y Ghost of Yōtei. Sony indicó que ambos recibirían un parche el día del anuncio para incluir QSSR como opción gráfica. Esto describe la disponibilidad anunciada, no confirma que la actualización ya aparezca en todas las regiones o para cada jugador.

- No se presentó una metodología de pruebas ni una comparación independiente entre QSSR y otras opciones gráficas.
- Por tanto, no hay base en el anuncio para afirmar que QSSR aumente los fotogramas por segundo en una cantidad concreta, o que todos los juegos compatibles vayan a verse mejor en la misma medida.
QSSR en PS5 frente a PSSR en PS5 Pro
Sony compara el propósito de QSSR con el de PSSR, su tecnología de escalado para PS5 Pro, pero distingue su posicionamiento: la empresa afirma que PSSR sigue siendo su estándar de referencia en PS5 Pro y presenta QSSR como una nueva opción para PS5. No publicó datos equivalentes de calidad o velocidad con los que establecer una comparación cuantitativa entre ambas.

El anuncio oficial solo confirma que QSSR se incorpora como opción gráfica en cada juego mediante parche. No documenta la ruta exacta de los menús ni indica si la opción se activa automáticamente. Cuando la actualización esté disponible, busca la configuración gráfica dentro del propio juego; el nombre y la ubicación concretos del ajuste no están establecidos en la información publicada por Sony.

Qué se sabe de los próximos juegos compatibles
Sony dice que ofrecerá la biblioteca QSSR ampliamente a los desarrolladores de PlayStation y que espera verla en más títulos. No anunció una lista adicional de juegos ni fechas para futuras incorporaciones, así que por ahora los únicos títulos confirmados en el anuncio son Marvel’s Wolverine y Ghost of Yōtei.
