To publish a Kahoot! draft, open Library > Drafts, edit the game, and select Save in the creator. Complete any missing required fields or remove features unavailable on your plan, then save again. A draft cannot be played, assigned, or shared until Kahoot! saves it as a complete game.
How to publish a Kahoot! draft
- Sign in to Kahoot! and open Library.
- Select the Drafts tab and locate your game.
- Open the game’s three-dot menu and select Edit. Depending on screen size or browser zoom, the edit control may appear as a pencil icon.
- In the creator, select Save in the top-right corner.
- If Kahoot! prompts you to fix the game, complete the missing required elements. If it identifies a starred feature unavailable on your current plan, remove that feature or consider a plan that includes it.
- Select Save again after making the changes. Kahoot!’s instructions are in How to save a kahoot.
Why is my Kahoot! still saved as a draft?
A game may remain a draft if you closed the creator without saving, chose a draft option, left required content incomplete, or used a premium feature that your current plan does not include. Kahoot! gives a missing title and an unselected correct answer in a Test knowledge question as examples of incomplete content.

Reopen the game from Library > Drafts, choose Edit, and select Save. Follow the creator’s prompt: fill in required content or remove the unavailable starred feature, then save again. See Kahoot!’s guidance on saving a kahoot.

Publishing and visibility are separate
Saving a complete game makes it playable, assignable, and shareable; it does not by itself determine whether the game appears in search. Kahoot! offers visibility choices including Public and Private. Public games appear in Discover search results. Private games do not appear in search, and the creator must share them with signed-in players. You can adjust visibility in the Library or in the creator’s settings before saving. If you cannot find the draft
Start with the Drafts tab in your Library and check that you are signed in to the account where you created the game. If it is missing from your Library, Kahoot!’s help article covers finding or restoring missing games: How to find or restore a missing kahoot.
