Public Mobile currently advertises a limited-time Canada-wide 50GB 5G plan for $35 per month. That current offer does not confirm that every customer on a past $34 plan has been moved to $36: historical community posts describe different offers, and the available record does not establish an official notice showing one unchanged plan increased from $34 to $36.
What Public Mobile charges for 50GB of 5G data now
At the time reflected by Public Mobile’s current homepage and plan listing, the advertised Canada-wide offer is $35 per month for 50GB of 5G data, with unlimited talk and text. Public Mobile labels the homepage offer limited-time, so its availability and price may change.
The $35 listing is a current advertised offer, not evidence that a particular subscriber’s legacy, promotional, or account-specific plan has changed. The plan listing includes multiple tiers; compare the full plan details and the price shown in your own account rather than relying on the data amount alone.
Do the $34 and $36 reports describe the same plan?
Not necessarily. Public Mobile Community posts from 2024 report a $34 50GB offer and a $36 Canada-US 50GB offer at different times. An August 2024 community comment said the $36 Canada/USA 50GB 5G offer had expired; another discussion described a $34 Canada-US offer with 15GB at 4G. These are customer reports about offers at particular times, not official notices that establish a single plan’s price history.

Consequently, the evidence does not confirm that one unchanged $34 plan became $36, or establish the notice date or effective date for the increase implied by the headline. A July 2024 customer post also asked about a reported $34-to-$39 change, illustrating that reported amounts and plan variants differed; it does not verify the $34-to-$36 claim. See the historical community discussion and customer post as dated community reports, not company announcements.
How to compare Public Mobile plan prices fairly
Before deciding that a plan’s price went up—or that a current plan is equivalent to an older one—compare the details that can change the offer:

- Coverage geography: a Canada-wide plan is not automatically equivalent to a Canada-US or Canada-US-Mexico plan.
- Offer status: note whether a price is limited-time, promotional, or otherwise tied to eligibility.
- Date: record when you checked the listing or received a notice; an old forum post does not establish current availability.
Public Mobile’s plan listing is the place to check its currently advertised tiers. The coverage page describes its 5G network as powered by TELUS. Coverage and device compatibility are separate checks: Public Mobile’s service terms state that not all devices work on its network.

What Public Mobile’s terms say about rate changes
Public Mobile’s service terms, updated March 10, 2026, state: “Public Mobile may change the Services offered, including rates, and any term of the Agreement, at any time.” The terms also say that, where notice is required, Public Mobile will provide at least 30 days’ notice through a reasonable method, such as its website, email, or text message. They describe monthly subscriptions as 30-day prepaid periods unless a plan specifies otherwise.

This is the company’s general policy; it does not prove that the reported $34-to-$36 change applied to a particular customer or establish when it took effect. For your own price and effective date, check the plan and notices associated with your account. A community discussion can provide historical context, but it is not a substitute for a direct notice from Public Mobile.
