Pakistan’s DIRBS service was scheduled to be temporarily unavailable from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, until Sunday evening, December 7. That maintenance window has passed; the notice does not establish whether DIRBS is available now. Anyone who needs to register a device today should check PTA’s official service directly.
When was DIRBS scheduled to be unavailable?
APP reported on December 4, 2025, that the suspension would begin at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and continue until Sunday evening. TechJuice identified the dates as December 6–7, 2025. Neither report specified an exact restoration time. APP attributed the announcement to a PTA press release and said the work was connected to scheduled FBR system maintenance. What did the suspension affect?
DIRBS is Pakistan’s device-identification, registration and blocking system for devices on local mobile networks. FBR says the system identifies non-compliant devices, automatically registers compliant devices and eventually blocks non-compliant ones. FBR’s DIRBS overview.

Is PTA DIRBS down now?
The December 6–7, 2025 notice described a past maintenance window; it cannot confirm DIRBS’s current operating status. For a present-day registration or device-status check, use PTA’s official service rather than relying on the old notice. The sources cited here do not verify current availability.
How to avoid fake DIRBS messages and links
PTA has warned about fraudulent messages and links impersonating DIRBS. Use official channels for device checks, and do not follow suspicious links or provide information or payment through an unverified site. APP’s report on PTA’s warning.

Why older maintenance notices do not fill in the details
PTA announced downtime for registration and related activities in April 2024, but that earlier notice does not establish which interfaces or workflows were affected in December 2025. The April 2024 notice is historical context, not a description of the later maintenance.
