What “hidden browser” means on PS5
Sony’s published answer in its 2020 PS5 FAQ is: “No, the PS5 system doesn’t include a dedicated web browser app.” Some users report reaching limited browser-like access through links, but Sony does not document that as a supported browser feature. The existence of a workaround does not establish that it can open arbitrary sites or play their embedded videos.

- From the Games home screen, open Media.
- Select All Apps, choose YouTube, then select Download.
- Open YouTube and follow the app’s on-screen instructions to start watching.
Sony’s YouTube setup guidance says 4K viewing requires a PS5 configured for 4K, an Ultra HD or 4K display, and a steady internet connection of at least 25 Mbps. That figure is Sony’s stated requirement for YouTube 4K playback, not a guarantee that every video or connection will deliver 4K.

How to find other streaming services
Open the PS5’s Media home or TV & Video area, select a service shown there, and follow that app’s playback instructions. The available catalog varies by country or region, so a service may not appear for every user. Individual services may also require a subscription.
What to do if a video site only works in a browser
The available Sony documentation establishes app-based viewing, not reliable playback through the reported browser workaround. If a service has no PS5 app in your region, the evidence does not establish that its website or embedded player will work through a link-launched browser on the console. Check the service’s supported-device information or use a device it officially supports rather than relying on the workaround.
