Our verdict on YouCompress
YouCompress is a browser-based service for reducing image file sizes, aimed at individuals and small users who want a free option without installing software or registering. Its image tool supports GIF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WEBP and SVG. The published Free plan offers unlimited files and adds no watermark, so it suits occasional or ongoing image compression when a straightforward online workflow is enough.
The cloud workflow is its defining trade-off. Files are transferred over an HTTPS-encrypted connection, and uploaded and compressed files are automatically deleted after a few hours.
