XDOKU review
A documentation-focused recorder for teams creating multilingual guides, not general screen videos.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
XDOKU turns captured screen actions into step-by-step guides with screenshots and AI-written descriptions. It is aimed at people and organizations producing standard operating procedures, tutorials, manuals and training materials, especially when those documents need translation or publication in several formats. It is less suited to buyers who mainly want a general-purpose screen recorder for standalone videos: its central output is documentation, with video as one of several publishing options.
The plans scale by document volume and authoring capabilities. Free costs €0 per month and includes one user and up to 10 documents. Lite is €19.90 per user per month, billed annually, and adds unlimited documents, AI-generated descriptions, translation to more than 50 languages and an AI assistant. Pro is €39.90 per user per month, billed annually; it adds video and image imports, AI-narrated videos and corporate SSO. Corporate has custom pricing, custom integrations and priority support. A 7-day paid-plan trial is available, after which the account converts to Free. This makes Free a way to assess the documentation workflow, while paid tiers are relevant when teams need broader output or enterprise controls.
The standout fit is the guide lifecycle: users can annotate, crop, number and blur guides, import videos, URLs, images, Word and PDF files, then export to formats including PDF, Word, PowerPoint, HTML, Markdown, video and GIF. Translation and publishing to Confluence, SharePoint, WordPress and FTP support distribution; a knowledge base and AI assistant can draw on published guides. Windows, macOS, a Chrome extension, iOS, Android and an API are listed as supported platforms. The mobile instructions describe creating guides from screenshots rather than recording through a dedicated mobile capture app. Choose XDOKU when repeatable, multilingual procedures matter; choose a more video-centered tool if recording and editing general screen videos is the primary job.
