Our verdict on Wise Proctor

Wise Proctor is a web-based online proctoring product for K-12 and higher-education institutions. It uses automated AI monitoring to review a test-taker’s webcam, computer, screen, and audio, then flags potentially suspicious activity for instructor review. Customizable security levels let institutions adjust monitoring requirements, and the service works on computers including Chromebooks. Its browser-based delivery suits teams that want online exam monitoring without asking students to install software or a browser extension.

According to the vendor’s published pricing information, Wise Proctor uses a flat per-student fee and provides pricing by quote rather than listing public plan tiers. That approach may fit institutions that prefer an institution-specific proposal, but buyers will need to contact Wise Education Systems, Inc. to understand the applicable cost. The product is stated to work with learning management systems and testing platforms, making platform compatibility a central part of its deployment model. Wise also states that it provides 24/7 phone and email support.

The product’s strongest focus is automated monitoring with multiple observation channels and real-time activity flagging. This gives instructors a review workflow rather than relying only on a single webcam view. Wise Proctor is a practical fit for schools and educational institutions seeking lightweight, browser-based oversight across standard computers and Chromebooks. Institutions that require identity verification, live human proctoring, browser lockdown, or defined recording-retention controls should compare it with an alternative whose published feature set explicitly covers those requirements.
