Our verdict on Votey
Votey is a web-based audience response system for presenters, event hosts and educators who need live participation without asking attendees to install an app or create an account. Hosts can build interactive rooms with multiple-choice polls, word clouds, ratings, rankings, surveys, scored and timed quizzes, and live Q&A. Participants join through a QR code or short code, while responses appear live on a presenter screen. Q&A includes upvoting and moderation, making the product suitable for sessions where audience questions need to be surfaced and managed.
The published plans show a straightforward freemium structure. Free costs £0 forever and includes one event per month, unlimited rooms per event, up to 25 participants per room, and live results on the big screen. It does not include data exports. Pro costs £19.99 per month on monthly billing and adds unlimited events, rooms and participants, PowerPoint, CSV, HTML and PDF exports, removal of Votey branding, and all activities for every event. The Pro plan can be cancelled anytime, while the Free plan is better suited to occasional, smaller sessions.
