Voice Forge is a browser-based text-to-speech service from Cepstral for creating synthesized speech from entered scripts. It focuses on distinctive character and personality-driven voices for music, videos, games, animations, and other media projects. Users select from 42 voices, adjust speech with SSML controls, and download generated audio under eligible plans. The web-only format suits creators who want a focused way to produce character-style voice clips without installing desktop software.

The plan structure separates home and non-monetized use from commercial production. Fan Voice includes 150 downloads per month and high-quality WAV downloads for non-monetized games, video, and media. Premium raises the allowance to 1,000 downloads per month, adds special effects, removes ads, and retains high-quality WAV downloads for non-monetized projects. Publisher adds commercial-use licensing, unlimited high-quality downloads, and no ads. A Trial option includes ads, no downloads, and home use only, so it is suited to evaluating the service rather than exporting finished audio.

Voice Forge offers more control than a basic read-aloud tool through pauses, emphasis, pronunciation, prosody, batch processing, timestamped downloads, and Premium special effects. Its focus is narrower, however: entered text is limited to 500 characters, WAV is the listed export format, and the service does not provide voice cloning or an API. Pick Voice Forge for short, character-led audio projects and commercial media that fit the Publisher license. Choose another text-to-speech product if you need longer scripts, broader platform access, voice cloning, API integration, or more flexible export options.
