Our verdict on VideoSDK
VideoSDK is a developer platform for embedding real-time audio and video calls, interactive live streaming, recording, transcription, and AI-generated summaries into web and mobile applications. It is aimed at teams building telehealth, video KYC, education, live commerce, interviews, virtual events, and other communication products. APIs and SDKs cover web, iOS, Android, Flutter, and React Native, while the feature set includes screen sharing, chat, polls, Q&A, SIP connectivity, session analytics, and participant recording. The platform supports up to 500 simultaneous active hosts under its Pay-As-You-Go concurrency limit.
Pricing is structured around a Free plan, Pay-As-You-Go, and Enterprise. The Free plan includes audio-video calls, recording and storage, real-time transcription and summaries, and session metrics and analytics, with no credit card required. Pay-As-You-Go uses prepaid billing at $0.004 per participant minute, with no minimums and no expiration. Meeting recording, transcription, summaries, and storage are available as metered add-ons on that plan. Enterprise adds custom pricing, highest concurrency support, custom SLAs and support agreements, dedicated account management, Private Cloud deployment options, and a premium support plan. This structure suits projects that prefer usage-based billing, while larger deployments may need an enterprise agreement.
Its ecosystem is a notable strength for products that need more than basic calling. VideoSDK connects with SIP and RTMP and supports storage or cloud relationships involving Amazon S3, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Customer-bucket recording storage can help teams keep recorded media within their own storage setup. Choose VideoSDK when one API layer needs calls, streaming, recording, AI-assisted meeting output, and mobile coverage. A narrower video API may be a better fit for teams that do not need these additional communication and storage features.
