VerifyTenant provides tenant screening for landlords, property managers, realtors, and condo associations. Its coverage includes credit reports with scores, SSN verification, national criminal-record searches, eviction-history checks, sex-offender registry screening, terrorist-watchlist checks, employment verification, rental references, identity checks, and related background searches. Individual landlords can order non-credit products without an account, while members receive access to on-demand reports through the platform. The company states that it has operated since 2005.
Its main strength is breadth for traditional screening workflows. The published offerings cover both financial and background information, with SmartMove listing a credit-based ResidentScore alongside national criminal-background screening. Other plans list combinations of credit reports, criminal records, eviction records, registry and watchlist checks, and reference verification. Platinum extends reference verification to employment, residence, and character. Instant results are included on several listed plans, while the category details show a starting price of 20 and TransUnion as the credit bureau.
VerifyTenant also addresses follow-up compliance work through adverse-action letters, dispute forms, and FCRA support. That makes it a fit for members who want screening and related documentation in one service. The tradeoff is platform scope: access is web-only, and there is no free plan. The plan list includes repeated Silver, Gold, and other names with overlapping highlights, so buyers should compare the exact screening package they need before ordering. Choose VerifyTenant for broad, conventional screening and compliance support; consider an alternative if native mobile access or a free entry tier is essential.
