Uthana review
A usage-priced motion platform with auto-rigging and API workflows for humanoid characters.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Uthana is an AI platform for generating, reconstructing, and retargeting human motion for 3D characters, simulations, robotics, and game workflows. It is aimed at teams that need programmatic motion pipelines alongside automatic rigging, rather than a standalone rigging tool. The platform supports web and API workflows, with automatic rigging for compatible bipedal humanoid characters uploaded in FBX or GLB format.
Pricing is pay-as-you-go, with no subscription required. The published plans show Text-to-motion 1.0 at $0.02 per second, Text-to-motion 2.0 at $0.03 per second, and Text-to-motion 3.0 at $0.10 per second. Video-to-motion 2.0 and 2.1 cost $0.05 per second, while Locomotion 1.0 costs $0.02 per second and Stitching and looping 2.0 costs $0.01 per second. Auto-rigging costs $0.15 per rig. The starting usage price is $0.01 per second, and new subscriptions stopped in August 2026; legacy subscribers may remain on existing plans.
Uthana’s main differentiator is its breadth across motion creation and character workflows. Text-to-motion, video-to-motion reconstruction, controllable locomotion, motion stitching, and retargeting sit alongside a GraphQL API, Blender and Maya plugins, and export in FBX, GLB, and BVH. Integrations include Blender, Maya, Unity, and Unreal Engine. Choose Uthana when an API-driven pipeline needs both motion generation and humanoid auto-rigging. A more narrowly focused rigging product may be a better fit when motion generation and retargeting are not part of the workflow.

- GraphQL API with FBX, GLB, and BVH export
- Where it doesn't
- Auto-rigging is limited to compatible bipedal humanoid characters
- Usage-based pricing requires tracking seconds and rigs
- Motion generation is broader than dedicated rigging alone
