Our verdict on Universe

Universe is an online event ticketing platform for independent organizers, growing businesses and established event operators. It supports public or unlisted event pages with paid, free or donation tickets, capacity controls, timed-entry inventory and custom checkout questions. Organizers can send confirmations, reminders and QR-coded tickets, review sales and check-in data, and run virtual or in-person events. BoxOffice adds QR scanning, manual attendee check-in, in-person payments and door sales, making Universe suited to straightforward public events and timed-entry programs.

The free plan covers event pages, ticket inventory, custom questions, QR check-in, door sales, transfers and refunds. Universe charges fees on paid tickets, while free events have no service fee; pricing varies by location and currency. The Starter plan adds unlimited ticket types and add-ons, real-time analytics, door scanning and selling, plus email support. Standard includes Starter features with team permissions, cardholder presales, payment plans, tiered ticketing and priority email support. Pro is a custom a la carte plan with Ticketmaster sales, a dedicated account manager, onsite support and RFID access control.
