Unibuild review
Bespoke UK contractor accounting with retention, job costing and field workflows.

Unibuild is bespoke business software for UK trades and specialist contractors that need financial management alongside workforce, site and project records. Its accounting capabilities cover applications for payment and valuations, retention calculations, cumulative balances, final release, job costing, unbilled work, aged debt, receipts, payment allocation, subcontractor invoices and CIS deductions. Office teams work in a browser, while site personnel use a branded mobile app. The platform is aimed at firms ranging from solo operators to enterprise teams that want one configured system.
Pricing is quote-only, with no published monetary amounts. The published plans are Custom monthly and Custom annual. Both include all modules, unlimited users, configuration, training, migration and support. Annual billing saves two months compared with monthly billing. A 14-day free trial is available without a card requirement. This structure suits contractors that want the vendor to configure a broad system around their processes, while buyers seeking transparent per-user pricing will need a direct quotation before comparing costs.
Unibuild runs on web, iOS and Android, and connects with QuickBooks, Xero, Sage 50, Dext, OneDrive, WhatsApp, Email, Sage payroll and BrightPay. Payroll data can be exported in CSV, XML and JSON, but contractor payroll itself is not included, so firms needing payroll processing inside the accounting platform should consider another product. Support is provided by email and phone rather than a 24/7 service. Choose Unibuild for integrated applications, retention, job costing and mobile field work; choose an alternative if payroll execution or independently priced plans are central requirements.
