UFile is Canadian personal tax software for preparing and electronically filing federal and provincial income tax returns, including Quebec returns. It is suited to individuals and families with employment, self-employment, investment, rental, or freelance income. The browser-based UFile ONLINE product supports CRA Auto-fill, NETFILE filing, carry-forward information, and online storage, while UFile for Windows provides downloadable desktop software with editions that include four or twelve returns.
Its main strength is breadth. UFile supports more than 230 forms and slips, imports information from most tax slips through CRA Auto-fill, and supports investment income, capital gains and losses, rental income and property expenses, pension income splitting, and ReFILE for previously filed returns. Filing integrations include CRA NETFILE, Revenu Québec NETFILE, and CRA ReFILE. That combination makes it a practical fit for Canadian families whose returns extend beyond a basic employment situation, particularly when multiple family members need to be handled in one family file.
The published plans include an eligible free return for qualifying taxpayers such as students, simple-return filers, first-time filers, and families with total income of $20,000 or less. Paid ONLINE family plans add spouse and dependant returns to the same family file, while PREMIUM single-return and family plans add priority telephone, chat, and email support. Windows editions provide four or twelve included returns. Choose UFile if Canadian form coverage, CRA integrations, and family filing matter most. Taxpayers seeking audit-support services or a mobile-native desktop experience should consider alternatives that focus on those needs.
