TypingDNA Authenticator review
A Chrome-only TOTP authenticator with local storage, migration tools, and optional biometric encryption.

TypingDNA Authenticator is a Chrome browser extension for generating six-digit TOTP codes without requiring a phone. It is designed for solo users and small teams that want browser-based two-factor authentication, with account setup through QR-code scanning or manual secret-key entry. Codes can be copied or injected into webpages, while secret keys are stored in Chrome storage. The product is positioned as a personal authenticator rather than a team administration platform.
The Free plan includes TOTP generation, local storage, QR-code scanning, and manual secret-key entry. It also supports importing and exporting secret files for migration and backup, optional Chrome Sync storage, and displaying QR codes for transferring secrets to a phone authenticator. Premium adds typing-pattern protection and encrypts secret codes using typing biometrics, credentials, and a cloud-held encryption key. Premium features are available for up to five unique locations.
Chrome integration is the defining strength and limitation. Browser injection reduces the need to switch between devices during sign-in, and the extension lists integrations including Twitch, AWS, Bitbucket, Coinbase, Facebook, Fortnite, GitHub, Google/Gmail, and Twitter. It also lists 1,000 integrations. Email and documentation are the available support channels. Choose TypingDNA Authenticator if Chrome is your primary environment and you need OTP autofill plus migration tools. Users seeking push approvals, broader platform coverage, or team administration should consider a different authenticator category option.
