Our verdict on TundraFox Mail
TundraFox Mail is a Canadian-hosted email service for individuals, families, teams, and regulated organizations. It combines webmail with integrated calendar and contact management, while supporting standard email clients through IMAP and SMTP. JMAP, CalDAV, and CardDAV add broader synchronization options. The service is ad-free and emphasizes encrypted connections, encrypted storage, multi-factor authentication, and Canadian data residency. It suits buyers who prioritize privacy features, protocol compatibility, and hosted email under Canadian jurisdiction.
Its plan structure spans personal, family, small-business, professional, and enterprise needs. Personal includes a @tundrafox.ca address, webmail, calendar, contacts, IMAP/SMTP access, multi-factor authentication, and bilingual support. Personal+ adds custom domains, aliases, JMAP, priority support, and imports from Gmail or Outlook. Family adds shared storage, shared calendars, custom domains, and a catch-all address. Starter introduces an admin console and PIPEDA audit logs, while Professional adds SSO/OIDC, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, transactional API access, and migration support. Enterprise adds dedicated support, custom retention, compliance reporting, an SLA guarantee, and white-glove migration. A 14-day trial is available without a credit card, and annual billing saves 15%.
Protocol and ecosystem fit are central strengths. Thunderbird, Apple Mail, and Outlook can connect through supported email protocols, while CalDAV and CardDAV support calendar and contact synchronization. Migration options cover Gmail, Outlook, and compatible services, helping organizations move existing accounts. Security features include TOTP and passkeys alongside encrypted connections and storage; qualifying business tiers add audit logs, SSO/OIDC, compliance reporting, and retention controls. TundraFox Mail is a strong fit for privacy-conscious individuals and organizations that need Canadian hosting with standards-based access. Buyers seeking a free tier or a native desktop application should consider alternatives.
