Tryton is modular, open-source business software for companies and communities of different sizes. It brings together double-entry financial accounting, sales, inventory and stock control, purchasing, manufacturing, supply-chain operations, CRM, analytic accounting, and project-related operations. Multiple-company support includes company and employee records, making the system relevant to small teams that need more than a single finance or inventory tool. The product is maintained under the stewardship of the Tryton Foundation and distributed as Free Software.

Tryton follows an open-source model rather than a tiered SaaS plan structure. Its published capabilities include financial accounting with chart of accounts, balance sheet, and income statement templates; sales management; stock levels, shipments, and inventory corrections; purchase orders with supplier shipments and related invoices; and manufacturing workflows built around production orders, bills of material, and routings. Organizations can install and operate the system themselves, while a network of service providers offers professional services. This model suits teams that want control over deployment and are prepared to manage an on-premise ERP environment.

Platform coverage includes Windows, macOS, and Linux through desktop and downloadable client components. The functional breadth is the main reason to consider Tryton: it can connect financial, commercial, inventory, purchasing, production, supply-chain, CRM, and multi-company work within one modular system. That breadth may also mean more configuration and operational responsibility than a focused business application. Choose Tryton when open-source ownership, modular ERP coverage, and self-managed deployment matter; consider a different ERP when a browser-first experience or a managed cloud service is the priority.
