Our verdict on Trazos
Trazos is an offline handwriting practice app for children aged 4 and up. It guides learners through uppercase and lowercase print letters, simplified cursive, numbers, picture words, pre-writing lines, and finger mazes. Child profiles, progress views, spoken sounds, printable worksheets, and left-handed and easier modes make it suited to children building early letter formation and pen-control skills with adult guidance.
Its standout feature is structured tracing feedback. Each stroke uses a start dot and numbered directional arrows, then receives a score based on shape, direction, and coverage. This gives practice a defined target instead of treating every attempt as free-form drawing. The app also includes a free-writing page with on-device handwriting reading, letter heat maps, and stars, so children can move from guided strokes toward more independent practice while adults can see areas for continued work.
Trazos offers a focused set of early-writing activities rather than a broad learning platform. The Free plan includes uppercase and lowercase letters A–M and a–m, numbers 0–9, the first 10 picture words per language, eight pre-writing lines, four mazes, free writing, and sounds. Full Access adds complete letter, number, word, line, and maze sets, cursive, Spanish Ñ and accented vowels, unlimited practice sheets, and a photo album of finished letters. It is a strong fit for families seeking offline, structured handwriting practice on iOS; those needing another platform or broader language coverage should look elsewhere.
