Tonvio review
A practical choice for large voiceover projects needing scale, cloning and API access.

Tonvio is an online AI text-to-speech service for turning written content into downloadable MP3 audio. It is designed for audiobook chapters and full books, podcasts, videos, advertisements, courses and other voiceover projects. Users can paste text, preview voices, choose from more than 14,000 voices and generate jobs of up to 100,000 characters. Voice cloning and an asynchronous REST API extend it beyond a basic browser-based speech generator, while web and API access support both individual production and programmatic workflows.
Pricing is split between monthly unlimited plans and one-time character packs. Unlimited costs $45 per month and includes unlimited characters, all voices and engines, one voice clone and 90-day file storage. Unlimited ×2 costs $80 per month, adds three voice clones and provides priority in the shared pool. One-time packs start at $1.50 for 100,000 characters, then rise to $6 for 1M, $13 for 3M, $18 for 5M, $28 for 10M and $35 for 15M characters. These credits never expire and are suited to regular voiceover. Character dubbing and translation require an active subscription.
The strongest fit is a large audiobook or voiceover workflow that benefits from high character limits, broad voice choice, MP3 downloads and repeatable API jobs. The audiobook workflow and full-book support make long-form narration a central use case, while cloning can help maintain a consistent voice across projects. Tonvio is less suitable for buyers seeking a permanent free tier, broad integration options beyond web and API access, or subscription features while using one-time credits. Choose it for high-volume narration and automation; consider an alternative when dubbing, translation or a wider platform ecosystem is central to the project.
