Thortspace review
A distinctive 3D mapping tool for visual thinkers, teams, and guided presentations.

Thortspace is a 3D visual-thinking and mind-mapping application for brainstorming, project planning, research, education, problem solving, and presentations. Instead of placing ideas on a conventional flat canvas, it arranges connected “thorts” on spherical canvases. Users can link spheres into networks, create guided journeys through content, present maps, publish spheres and journeys on the web, and work across web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Its audience is visual thinkers, educators, researchers, project planners, and teams that want maps to function as explorable spaces.
The freemium structure makes the product accessible. The Free plan supports capturing and organizing ideas, online or offline work, public-sphere publishing with advertising, and connected sphere networks. Content Reader costs $4.99 per month and provides access to paywalled spheres. Premium costs $14.99 per month when billed monthly or $9.17 per month when billed annually, adding real-time collaboration, private and public spheres, ad-free web publishing, automatic synchronization, merging and backup, and integrated internet picture search. Business costs $15 per user per month and adds multi-user licensing and billing, organization-owned spheres, team administration, optional on-site deployment, and optional customization.
Thortspace stands out through its spherical maps, linked networks, guided journeys, presentation mode, and optional AI collaborator for building and arranging content. Offline work with synchronization and merge also supports projects that move between connected and disconnected settings. The trade-off is focus: the product is built around a distinctive spatial model rather than a conventional document or flat mind-map workflow. Choose it if 3D exploration, visual storytelling, and connected map structures are central to your work. Choose another tool if your priority is a more familiar mapping format or a simpler, narrower brainstorming experience.
