TheGoodHOA review
A free, web-based HOA toolkit for volunteer boards managing up to 400 units.

TheGoodHOA is a cloud-based HOA management platform for self-managed homeowners associations and volunteer boards. Its core workspace brings together dues invoicing and collection, online payments with autopay, violation tracking with photo evidence, maintenance requests, architectural request review, governing documents, meeting minutes, voting, budgeting, resident communications, and a community map. Residents can access payment and community information online, giving smaller associations a centralized way to handle recurring administrative work.
Pricing is centered on a free Core platform for associations with up to 400 units. That plan includes the core modules, unlimited residents, and unlimited documents, with no subscription or contract. A separate Community website add-on provides a public community website. The vendor also identifies optional paid services for online payment convenience fees, printed and mailed letters, and the website add-on, so boards should distinguish the free management workspace from these additional services when planning costs.
Feature coverage is broad for a volunteer-run association: financial collection, operational requests, architectural review, records access, online voting with tamper-evident vote records, budget building with CSV/Excel exports, and communication by email and printed mail are all included. The product is deployed on the web and lists email as its support channel. Boards that want a straightforward browser-based system for a small community should find the scope aligned with common HOA workflows; associations needing mobile apps, capacity beyond 400 units, or a different support model should consider alternatives.
