The Weather Network brings forecasts, current observations and weather maps together in an Android app for people who want both a quick local outlook and more context for changing conditions. It covers local and travel weather with hourly, 7-day and 14-day views, and includes severe-weather alerts, government warnings, air-quality information and a customizable home- and lock-screen widget. Its broad scope suits everyday checking as well as monitoring conditions before travel or outdoor plans.

Forecast depth is complemented by live radar and satellite maps with layers for precipitation, temperature, wind, fire, clouds and highway conditions. Precipitation start and stop time graphs add a more immediate view of incoming weather, while UV and allergy reports extend the app beyond temperature and rain. The Google Play listing says forecast data updates every 15 minutes. Weather news and video provide additional context, though users looking only for a simple forecast may not need the wider set of tools.

The app is freemium and has a free plan. Google Play confirms in-app purchases, but the published subscription pricing article describes iOS plans, not Android pricing, so it does not establish an Android subscription cost. Support is listed through email and documentation. Choose The Weather Network if you want forecasts, map layers and alerts in one Android app; consider a narrower option if you only need a basic local forecast or a clearly stated Android subscription price before deciding.
