TaxSlayer Pro is professional tax preparation software for preparers, accountants, enrolled agents, and CPAs. It covers individual federal, state, and local returns, along with electronic filing for individual and business returns. The product also supports corporate, partnership, estate, trust, and exempt-organization returns. Its platform options include cloud-based ProWeb access, desktop products for Windows and macOS, and iOS support. Client-facing tools include a portal and mobile applications, giving professional firms several ways to organize preparation and communication workflows.

The plan structure separates desktop, cloud, and higher-tier business functionality. Pro Classic includes unlimited 1040 returns, all states, integrated bank product solutions, unlimited support, and free unlimited electronic filing. Pro Web adds browser-based preparation, unlimited 1040 and state returns, a mobile app, client portal, Spanish-language availability, and iOS compatibility. Pro Premium adds a full corporate business suite, unlimited individual returns, TaxesToGo, a paperless office, and a client portal. There is no free plan, so the product is aimed at paid professional workflows rather than occasional individual filing.

Its strongest distinction is breadth across return types and preparation environments. Prior-year data carry-forward, amended federal and state returns, multi-factor authentication, client status tools, and electronic filing address recurring preparer needs. The choice is clearest for firms that need professional return coverage with either desktop software or browser-based access, and for practices that want client portals or mobile applications. Preparers focused only on simple individual returns, or those seeking a free filing option, should look elsewhere. Teams that need a wider named integration ecosystem beyond bank products may also prefer an alternative.
