Taskwingo review
A capable open-source task manager for private, local desktop workflows.

Taskwingo is an open-source desktop task manager for personal users who want to organize work locally and offline. It supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, with Windows releases and documented build commands for macOS and Linux. Tasks can be created, reordered, archived, prioritized, assigned statuses, and given deadlines with overdue or upcoming warnings. Desktop reminders, recurring schedules, subtasks, rich-text notes, and file attachments make it suitable for both simple lists and more structured personal projects. Multiple independent profiles also support separate workspaces on one device.
Its strongest advantage is feature depth within a focused desktop workflow. List, Kanban, and calendar views provide different ways to review tasks, while projects, tags, filters, and search help organize larger collections. Recurring tasks cover daily, weekday, weekly, and monthly patterns. Import and export options include JSON, CSV, HTML, profile bundles, and JSON import, giving users practical ways to move or preserve their information. Local storage, no account requirement, and no cloud storage or telemetry suit users who prefer keeping task data on their own devices.
The trade-off is ecosystem reach. Taskwingo does not provide calendar synchronization or integrations, so it is less suitable for users who need tasks connected to calendars, collaboration tools, or a wider productivity stack. Its multiple profiles and PIN locking are useful for separating personal workflows, but the product remains centered on individual desktop use. Choose Taskwingo for open-source, local task management with recurring work, reminders, and several planning views. Choose an alternative if synchronized calendars, third-party integrations, or ready-made platform releases across every supported desktop system are central requirements.
