Tamarac is Envestnet’s web-based wealth-management platform for registered investment advisors and wealth managers. It brings portfolio performance reporting, allocation analysis, risk analysis, trading, rebalancing, tax-lot selection, billing, CRM, client portals, and mobile access into one SaaS product. Its reporting scope covers traditional and alternative investments, including holdings, performance, cost basis, unrealized gains and losses, risk, and committed capital. The product is aimed at advisory firms ranging from smaller RIAs to large enterprises, with established wealth-management practices likely to benefit most from its breadth.

Tamarac’s integration coverage is a major part of its fit. The platform connects with Schwab OpenView Gateway, Fidelity Wealthscape, Pershing, and TD Ameritrade Veo, alongside CRM systems such as Salesforce, Wealthbox, and Redtail. It also integrates with financial-planning products including MoneyGuide and eMoney, plus alternative-investment platforms such as Canoe Intelligence, Arch, CAIS, iCapital, and Allocate. That ecosystem supports firms coordinating custody, planning, client relationships, and alternative assets across existing workflows. Firms already aligned with these systems have a clear reason to consider Tamarac; firms with simpler technology stacks may not need its full integration range.

The product’s breadth is both its defining strength and its main trade-off. A firm can address performance reporting, current-versus-target allocation comparisons, risk-adjusted returns, trading, rebalancing, tax lots, billing, portals, mobile client access, and CRM workflows within the same platform. Pricing follows a contact-sales model, so evaluating the commercial fit requires working with Envestnet rather than comparing public plan tiers. Tamarac is a strong match for established practices that need multi-asset and alternative-investment support across operational functions. A firm seeking only portfolio reporting or a narrowly focused portfolio tool should look for a simpler alternative.
