Tablix is a self-hosted .NET server and React dashboard for connecting people and AI agents to live databases. It targets engineers, data teams, platform teams, and internal-tool builders that want natural-language database chat with NL2SQL generation. The product crawls tables, keys, indexes, and relationships, then stores editable context for databases and tables. Users and connected agents can work through the dashboard, REST API, or MCP server, while supported database engines include SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server.

Its strongest differentiator is the combination of guarded execution and evidence-backed responses. Per-database statement allowlists control which queries may run, and verified answers include the executed SQL, returned rows, row counts, and evidence. That gives technical users material for reviewing how an answer was produced instead of relying only on a natural-language summary. CSV and JSON exports extend the query workflow, while persistent, editable context can help keep database-specific terminology and relationships available across interactions.

Tablix also fits teams building an AI-assisted development or automation workflow. Its MCP server connects with Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, and the product integrates with Ollama, OpenAI, OpenAI-compatible endpoints, and Gemini. The open-source, self-hosted model suits teams that want deployment control and API access. The trade-off is focus: coverage is limited to four database systems, and result visualizations are not verified. The published 0.3.0 version is labeled alpha, with the API and structure subject to change. Choose Tablix for open-source teams that value inspectable answers and controlled execution; choose an alternative if broad database coverage or verified visual analytics is central.
