Swan Cards review
A strong fit for European Mastercard programs, but the paid entry point is costly.

Swan Cards provides embedded banking capabilities for companies building financial products. Its platform supports virtual, physical, and digital Mastercard debit cards, including Apple Pay and Google Pay digitization. It also combines euro accounts with IBANs, SEPA payment rails, onboarding, KYC/KYB verification, and a programmable ledger. Companies can integrate through APIs or use web banking interfaces, with support across the European countries listed for the platform. The product is best suited to businesses launching European financial products that need cards alongside accounts and payments.
The pricing structure separates development from production banking. The Sandbox is free and includes a white-labeled banking app, KYC and onboarding, unlimited fake accounts, cards, and payments, an API explorer, a Postman collection, a testing API, and an event simulator. Swan on demand costs €2,990 per month and adds local accounts with IBANs, SEPA and multi-currency transfers, virtual IBANs, and company-logo cards in physical, virtual, Apple Pay, and Google Pay formats. The paid entry point makes Swan more appropriate for organizations with a clear production use case than for early experimentation beyond the sandbox.
Its strongest technical fit is the combination of payment infrastructure and card issuing in one European-focused platform. The GraphQL API covers accounts, cards, transactions, and other operations, while ledger-based balance and fund safeguarding support the account model. Swan Enterprise adds custom features and services, a dedicated implementation manager, interchange revenue sharing, and fully customized physical card design. However, Enterprise terms are customized, and card or usage fees can vary by contract. Choose Swan when European IBANs, SEPA payments, Mastercard cards, and API integration belong in the same product. Consider alternatives when a lower monthly commitment or cards without broader embedded banking infrastructure matter more.
