Stripe Radar is a fraud prevention product for businesses, platforms, marketplaces, and other payment users. It evaluates transactions and accounts with machine-learning models and signals from Stripe’s network, then helps teams block, review, or authenticate risky activity. Its feature set includes real-time transaction risk scoring, fraud alerts, card-testing prevention, account and customer-abuse prevention, and API-based fraud signals. It suits organizations already using Stripe, as well as teams connecting existing payment stacks to Radar through its API.
Pricing spans subscription and usage-based options. Radar Lite includes AI-based fraud prevention for card payments, card-testing prevention, and fraud alerts. Radar Standard costs $10 per month and adds fraud protection across payment methods, fraud analytics, default rules, allowlists, and blocklists. Radar Plus costs $14 per month and adds custom rules, backtesting, risk scores, manual reviews, and adaptive 3D Secure. Radar Pro costs $20 per month and adds advanced fraud protection, dynamic risk thresholds, bot and multi-account signals, and abuse prevention. Pay as you go costs $0.05 per screened transaction. The published plans also include a free tier.
Stripe Radar fits naturally with Stripe Payments, Stripe Checkout, Stripe Billing, Stripe Connect, Stripe.js, the Stripe iOS SDK, and the Stripe Android SDK. It supports web, iOS, Android, and API deployments, giving Stripe-based teams several implementation paths. The main trade-off is ecosystem dependence: organizations outside Stripe’s payment environment may find the product less suitable unless they use its API for fraud signals. Choose Radar for Stripe-centered payment flows that need adjustable fraud controls and clear tier options. Consider an alternative if platform independence is more important than Stripe integration.
