Our verdict on StoriesOnBoard

StoriesOnBoard is a cloud product-management platform for product managers, product owners, business analysts, and agile teams. Its core workspace brings visual user story mapping together with release planning, portfolio roadmaps, prioritization, feedback collection, public portals, and AI-assisted product work. Teams can organize user journeys, personas, requirements, releases, ideas, and stakeholder feedback, while web, Chrome extension, and API access support different working patterns.

The product’s strongest differentiator is the connection between discovery and delivery. Story mapping, custom roadmap columns and swimlanes, release progress reporting, and value-versus-effort or RICE prioritization give teams several ways to move from product ideas to planned work. Feedback portals and idea management extend participation beyond the core team, while two-way integrations with Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, GitHub, and other tools help connect planning with execution. AI assistance covers user stories, personas, acceptance criteria, and PRDs rather than replacing the broader planning workflow.

Pricing is divided across two paths. BASIC costs $9 per user per month and includes story mapping, unlimited story maps, a Kanban board, release management, and Slack integration. STANDARD is $12 per user per month, adding 10 products, custom workflows, Excel import/export, and two-way integrations. PRO is $15 per user per month and adds unlimited products, SAML SSO, security audit logging, and priority support. PERSONAL costs $16 per month for one roadmap, prioritization, one public portal, and a Chrome extension; PLUS is $29 per user per month, while PREMIUM is $55 per user per month with expanded roadmaps, security, portals, and white-labeling. Custom solutions add onboarding and dedicated success support. StoriesOnBoard suits teams that value visual mapping and structured prioritization; teams seeking a free plan or advanced controls without a higher-tier commitment should look elsewhere.
