Stellar Mod Loader is an open-source desktop mod manager for Windows and Linux. It is aimed at players managing Bethesda games such as Fallout, Oblivion, Skyrim, and Starfield, while custom game definitions extend its use to other titles and game versions. Its central workflow is profile-based: users can create and switch loadouts, order and enable or disable mods and plugins, manage profile-specific configuration and save files, and deploy files by copying or through Link Mode.

The product’s strongest area is the depth of its local mod organization. Stellar supports FOMOD and BAIN installers, root mods such as script extenders, ENBs, and injectors, and imports from folders or drag and drop. It also calculates and displays files overwritten by individual mods, giving users a direct way to inspect conflicts. Support for Steam, UWP/Game Pass, and other game versions, together with custom definitions, makes the manager suitable for multi-version setups rather than a single fixed game configuration.

Stellar is distributed through GitHub releases and licensed under GPL-3.0, making its open-source model a central part of the product. The tradeoff is that mod sourcing remains manual: the workflow is built around importing files rather than connecting to a broad catalog of mod sources. Steam is the listed integration, and automatic mod-update handling is not part of the published feature set. Choose Stellar if you want detailed local control over profiles, deployment, installers, and conflicts across supported games. Look elsewhere if your priority is source-connected discovery or automated mod updates.
