A Spotify beta feature for natural-language playlists shaped by your listening history.

Spotify Prompted Playlists is a beta mobile feature for Premium listeners who want to describe the music they want in everyday language. Prompts can cover moods, memories, vibes, scenarios, aesthetics, cultural moments, eras, genres, activities, lyrics, instruments, artists, TV shows, and other artist- or theme-directed ideas. Spotify uses listening history and current music context to create a personalized playlist, while free users can listen to shared playlists. The feature is available on iOS and Android, with creation currently available in English.
Its strongest angle is the combination of natural-language generation and ongoing playlist maintenance. Users can edit and refine prompts, request daily or weekly refreshes, and see explanation notes for individual tracks. That makes it suited to listeners who want a playlist to evolve around a mood, activity, artist, or theme instead of selecting every track manually. Playlist sharing adds a straightforward way to pass those results to others, while the Spotify connection keeps the experience centered on one streaming service.
Pricing depends on the Premium plan. Spotify Free provides ad-supported access to Spotify content, but Premium is required for playlist creation. Premium Student costs $6.99 per month and includes one verified Premium account, access to Hulu, and cancellation anytime. Premium Individual costs $12.99 per month for one Premium account and includes 15 hours per month of audiobook listening time. Premium Duo costs $18.99 per month for two accounts at the same address, while Premium Family costs $21.99 per month for up to six accounts and parental controls. Choose it if you already use Spotify and want prompt-driven, refreshed playlists; choose another option if you need desktop creation, languages beyond English, or more advanced editing.
