SplitMyExpenses is a bill-splitting app for friends, couples, roommates, and travel groups. It lets members create groups, record shared expenses, select among equal, amount, percentage, shares, adjustment, or itemized splits, and track balances. The app also includes recurring expenses, spending charts, debt minimization, payment-app settlement links, and support for more than 150 currencies. It runs on the web, iOS, Android, and macOS, with cloud and mobile deployment.

The Free plan costs $0 per month and includes adding expenses, splitting, settling up, imports for expenses up to 1 month old, and 10 recurring expenses total. Premium costs $3.99 per month. It adds receipt scanning and item splitting, imports covering expenses up to 10 years old, up to 100 active recurring expenses, links for up to 50 cards and bank accounts, default splits, and 100+ currency conversion. AI receipt itemization is therefore a paid-tier feature, while manual expense entry and core splitting are available on Free.

For connected workflows, SplitMyExpenses supports bank and credit-card transaction imports through Stripe Financial Connections, plus CSV, Excel, and TXT file imports. Settlement links can point to Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle, or UPI, and cash settlement is also supported. These options suit users managing frequent group expenses across accounts, files, and payment apps. Choose it if you need multiple split methods, historical imports, recurring tracking, and cross-platform access; consider another bill-splitting app if receipt scanning without a subscription or support beyond email and documentation is important.
