SPAMfighter review
A Windows-focused spam filter with a free home edition and paid business options.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
SPAMfighter filters spam for Windows email clients and also offers products for business mail systems. The free Standard edition is aimed at home users; Pro adds commercial-use rights and additional controls. Its listed client integrations include Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail (POP3) and Mozilla Thunderbird. That makes it most relevant to people who want filtering within one of those Windows-oriented mail setups, rather than a tool selected for broad platform coverage.
The feature set goes beyond moving detected spam to a spam folder. SPAMfighter also describes phishing, identity-theft and email-fraud protection, blacklist and domain blocking, automatic whitelist management, and one-click spam abuse reporting through its community network. Pro adds language filtering, unlimited blacklist and whitelist entries, phone support, and removes advertising and the email footer. The free edition is for home use, so organizations considering SPAMfighter should look at Pro or the separately offered business products rather than treating Standard as a commercial option.
Business deployment choices include Exchange filtering, a self-hosted Mail Gateway and a hosted cloud mail gateway. Mail Gateway adds attachment scanning and policy- and user-group-based filtering, while its listed support for multiple SMTP and mail-server platforms gives it a different scope from the consumer client integrations. SPAMfighter is therefore a reasonable fit for Windows-client users seeking free home filtering, or organizations evaluating its dedicated mail-gateway products. It is less suited to buyers whose primary requirement is a consumer filter independent of Windows mail clients. The consumer Pro edition has a 10-day trial; business and server products are described separately with 30-day trials.
