Sonar is an App Store Optimization platform for the iOS App Store and Google Play. It is designed for indie developers, small agencies, and teams managing app portfolios. Its feature set covers keyword research, popularity and difficulty scores, daily rank tracking, competitor monitoring, keyword-gap analysis, review monitoring, AI review insights, revenue and download estimates, listing management, screenshot localization, and alerts. Web access, API access, and integrations with App Store Connect, Claude, Cursor, Cline, and other MCP clients support both manual and AI-assisted workflows.
Pricing is straightforward across two plans. The Indie plan costs $29 per month or $290 per year and includes 10 apps, unlimited competitors, 2,500 keywords, all countries, daily rank tracking, and a REST API with 1,000 requests per day. The Agency plan costs $149 per month or $1,490 per year and expands coverage to 50 apps and 10,000 keywords, while adding five team seats, portfolio rollup, and white-label client reports. A 7-day trial is available, and it requires a credit card. The published plans make Indie suitable for solo work, while Agency is aimed at teams and client portfolios.
Sonar’s strongest distinction is the combination of research, monitoring, and creative listing support in one product. Screenshot Studio, screenshot localization, Listing Manager, competitor gaps, review insights, and API, CLI, and MCP access give users several ways to connect ASO analysis with publishing and automation workflows. The tradeoff is that the product is paid from the outset, and the Agency tier is the relevant option for larger app portfolios or client reporting. Choose Sonar if you want creative ASO tools alongside keyword and competitor intelligence; consider another option if a free plan is essential.
