SofortFax is an online fax service for individuals, self-employed users, offices, law firms, medical practices and businesses. Users can upload PDF, JPG and PNG documents, send them to German, Austrian or international fax numbers, and receive delivery reports by email. The service also supports scheduled sending, automatic delivery checking, retry attempts and inbound faxes delivered as PDFs. Web access, a Chrome extension, iOS, Android and an API provide several ways to send and receive faxes.
Pricing covers both occasional sending and recurring use. The Kurzes Fax option costs €2.49 per fax, Langes Fax costs €3.49 per fax, and International costs €4.99 per fax. Subscription options add a dedicated German or Austrian fax number, 20 or 50 outgoing faxes per month, unlimited inbound faxing and REST API access. Starter options are listed at €49.99 or €39.99 per month, with an annual-billing option at €34.99 per month. Business options are listed at €99.99 or €79.99 per month and add email support. Integrations include Dampsoft, CGM, Medistar, SAP, Lexoffice and Make.
Its strongest fit is a German or Austrian workflow that needs more than outbound faxing. A directory of government agencies and medical providers can support common regional destinations, while dedicated numbers and emailed inbound PDFs cover ongoing correspondence. The GDPR compliance level also aligns with the service’s stated regional positioning. However, there is no free plan, and the repeated Starter and Business plan names make the paid options less direct to compare. Choose SofortFax for regional faxing, inbound numbers or programmatic sending; choose an alternative if avoiding paid access or seeking simpler plan differentiation matters more.
