SmilControl CMS is a browser-based digital signage platform for centrally managing screens, media, playlists, schedules, and playback reporting. It is designed for retailers, hotels, banks, public administration, resellers, integrators, and larger signage networks. The platform supports web, Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android, with offline playback and content including images, videos, documents, livestreams, websites, RSS and Atom feeds, HTML5 widgets, and SVG templates. Its use of the open SMIL standard supports Garlic Player, IAdea hardware players, and other SMIL-compatible media players.
The published sample offers range from €7 per licensed player per month with annual billing to €25 per licensed player per month with monthly billing. The €7 SaaS low-load sample includes nested playlists, channel basis kit, scheduling, playback reports with CSV export, 500 MB monthly traffic per player, and email support; it covers a 10-player example and requires a three-year contract term. The €25 SaaS reseller premium sample adds news and local weather channels, remote player administration, and user and license management. Self-hosting setup and installation is listed at €499 one-time, while Managed Hosting is €99 per month. Support and maintenance tiers cost €79, €199, or €399 per month, and Remote Training is €699 one-time. Prices exclude VAT, and B2B or reseller projects may be calculated individually.
Its strongest fit is technical signage work that benefits from nested playlists, time- or day-based scheduling, multiple independent zones, reusable templates, HTML5/CSS/JavaScript widgets, RSS and Atom channels, and USB-based manual updates. Playback logs, system reports, inventory reports, MFA, and hierarchical module-level access controls add operational depth. The trade-off is that there is no API access, so teams requiring programmatic integration should consider an alternative. SmilControl CMS suits organizations that value SMIL compatibility, customization, and deployment choice; it is less suitable for buyers seeking a free entry tier or API-first workflow.
