Our verdict on SmartCAD

SmartCAD is a configurable, real-time computer-aided dispatch system for law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other public safety agencies. It covers emergency call handling, unit assignment, closest-unit recommendations, cross-agency coordination, ESRI-based mapping, automatic vehicle location tracking, dynamic response plans, and dispatch controls through command-line, function-key, and drag-and-drop interfaces. Municipal, county, state, and other public safety organizations are the clearest fit, particularly those coordinating emergency units across agencies.

According to the vendor’s purchasing information, SmartCAD uses negotiated pricing, subscriptions, financing, and quotes rather than a published list price. That makes the purchasing process suitable for organizations evaluating deployment and commercial terms with SmartCOP directly. Current deployment options include hosted AWS GovCloud, on-premises, and hybrid configurations, giving agencies several infrastructure approaches to consider.
