Small KDS review
A focused Square KDS with live tickets, aging timers and unlimited screens per location.

Small KDS is a kitchen display app for businesses that take orders through Square. It shows live kitchen tickets on iPad and Android tablets, with running aging timers and a shared queue that can appear across tablets at one location. That makes it a focused option for small Square kitchens that want multiple screens without paying per display. Its workflow can show a rolling order window, apply a daily cutoff, or display only new orders, so kitchens can choose how much of the queue appears.
According to the vendor's pricing page, the Small KDS plan costs $10 per location per month when billed annually and includes unlimited screens and live Square order updates. The homepage lists a $1 first month before the recurring subscription; it also says billing is in the Square location's currency and that the displayed price is a guide. The plan is cancel-anytime and self-serve. Since the charge is per location, adding tablets within the same location does not add a per-screen subscription fee. The app is cloud-based and requires an internet connection for Square orders to reach tablets, so kitchens that need the display to continue receiving orders while offline should consider alternatives.
Small KDS fits teams that already use Square and mainly need to make its incoming orders visible around the kitchen, including on an expo screen. The published workflow centers on a shared live queue and timers; kitchens whose operations depend on station-specific routing or explicit preparation-status controls should compare products built around those workflows. The vendor lists email support and GDPR compliance. Choose it for a straightforward, multi-tablet Square display; look elsewhere if your ordering setup extends beyond Square or your kitchen depends on routing and status tools.
