SimaPro is life-cycle assessment software for LCA practitioners, product designers, engineers, researchers, and organizations assessing environmental impacts across product life cycles. It supports product and portfolio modeling, carbon footprint analysis, scenario comparison, hotspot analysis, and environmental assessments. Its combination of detailed desktop modeling and cloud collaboration makes it relevant to teams that need more than a single footprint calculation, while the range of capabilities may be more than a narrow assessment requires.

The editions serve different workflows. Business is the cloud edition, with a company library, SKU-level portfolio coverage, and guided product and system modeling. Expert is a desktop edition with parameter-based LCA models and Monte Carlo uncertainty analysis. Power is also desktop-based and adds advanced modeling and Excel and SQL database links, alongside Monte Carlo analysis. The vendor's commercial plans page uses quote-based pricing, so buyers need to contact sales to assess cost against their modeling and portfolio needs. There is no free plan listed.

SimaPro's strongest fit is practitioners who need scenario and uncertainty analysis, inventory datasets, impact-assessment methods, and visual model or network analysis in one LCA workflow. The cloud edition adds shared data and team collaboration; desktop editions focus on detailed modeling. Buyers should choose an edition based on whether collaboration and portfolio coverage or desktop modeling and database links matter more. Teams seeking a simple carbon accounting tool, public self-serve pricing, or a free entry option may prefer an alternative with those characteristics.
