ShipClip review
A Mac screen recorder with separate tracks, timeline editing, and optional hosted sharing.

ShipClip is a native macOS screen recorder for founders, freelancers, developers, and product teams making demos, walkthroughs, and release videos. It captures screen, camera, microphone, and system audio as separate tracks, then brings them into a timeline editor. The app is a fit for Mac creators who want editing controls and presentation touches in the recording workflow, rather than a recorder limited to basic capture. It requires macOS 14 or later and is aimed at solo and small teams.
The standout feature is the combination of separate tracks and editing tools. ShipClip supports fullscreen, window, area, and mobile-device capture; its editor can trim, split, and arrange tracks. It also automatically generates editable zoom-to-click ranges, offers camera picture-in-picture with real-time background removal, and adds arrows, rectangles, text, blur, and customizable keystroke styling and sound effects. This gives creators options for emphasizing interface actions and polishing a demo before sharing. Local MP4 export is available, while hosted video links and viewer and drop-off analytics are part of ShipClip Cloud.
Pricing separates the Mac app from hosting. According to the published plans, the Founders License costs $44 as a one-time payment and includes future updates plus a coupon for one free year of ShipClip Cloud; that coupon is not a free plan. ShipClip Cloud is listed at $39 per year and adds video hosting, share links, and viewer analytics. The vendor lists email and documentation support and a 14-day refund period. The Mac-only requirement and paid-only model make ShipClip a more natural choice for Mac creators who value track-level editing and are comfortable paying upfront. Teams that need another platform or a free plan should look elsewhere.
