SF2000-UAE review
A focused, free Amiga 500 emulator for supported SF2000-class handhelds.

SF2000-UAE is a free, open-source emulator for running Amiga 500 software on Data Frog SF2000 and GB300 handheld devices with Multicore firmware. Its emulation target is the OCS chipset with a 68000 CPU, making it a focused option for users who want classic Amiga 500 software on these specific devices. Games are loaded from ADF disk images, and the emulator supports multi-disk titles, save and load states, mouse emulation, and a virtual keyboard.
There is no paid tier to compare: the published model is free and open source, with releases distributed through GitHub and licensing under GPL-2.0. Setup includes supplying compatible Kickstart ROM files separately. The project recommends Kickstart 1.3, while Kickstart 3.0 is unsupported, so users need the appropriate ROM before running software. Configurable chip and slow RAM settings, along with Y-correction and Y-stretch display options, provide useful control for supported games and handheld screens.
The main trade-off is scope. SF2000-UAE concentrates on Amiga 500 OCS emulation rather than covering broader Amiga hardware, and AGA games are not supported. Within its intended hardware range, the feature set covers core emulator needs: ADF loading, multi-disk handling, save states, input support, and display adjustments. Choose it if you have a Data Frog SF2000 or GB300 and want a free Amiga 500 emulator with practical game-loading features. It is less suitable for AGA software, Kickstart 3.0 use, or Amiga emulation beyond the supported OCS-focused target.
