Settle Up review
A detailed group expense tracker for complex splits, offline use and debt minimization.

Settle Up is a group expense tracker for travellers, flatmates, couples, event organizers and other groups of friends. It records shared expenses and IOUs, supports even, weighted and complex splits, and allows multiple people to pay one expense. Groups can view balances, reduce the number of transfers needed through debt minimization, and keep shared records across web, Windows, iOS and Android apps.
The product follows a freemium model with a free plan. According to the published plans, Premium starts at 3.99 and adds ad-free use, receipt photos, recurring expenses, custom categories, statistics and Excel export. Group Premium enables Premium features for everyone in one group, while Lifetime Group Premium provides the same group-focused Premium access as a lifetime option. These tiers are most relevant when groups need records beyond basic expense entry, especially recurring costs, receipt documentation or spreadsheet-based review.
Settle Up is suited to groups that need detailed expense logic rather than a conventional peer-to-peer payment wallet. It supports offline operation with later synchronization, multiple currencies and exchange rates, recurring expense notifications, and settlement through Bitcoin Lightning addresses. Integrations include Google Assistant, Alexa, Cortana and Bitcoin Lightning, while synchronization across its web, Windows and mobile apps supports shared visibility. Choose it for trips, households or events with complicated balances and occasional connectivity; choose a conventional payment app instead when sending standard peer payments is the central requirement.
