Our verdict on Saylore
Saylore is a mobile language-learning app for people who want a guided Italian course alongside conversation practice. Its Italian curriculum spans CEFR A1 to C2, and placement and level checks help learners follow progression through the course. AI tutor conversations provide instant grammar corrections, while speaking and pronunciation practice addresses features such as doubled consonants and vowel sounds. Lessons cover grammar, vocabulary, idioms and everyday conversation topics; the app also includes IELTS and TOEFL preparation paths. It is a fit for solo learners who want structured study and speaking practice in one mobile app.
The free plan lets learners start without a subscription, and a 7-day free trial is available. Premium Monthly costs $9.99 per month; Premium Annual costs $59.99 per year. Both paid plans include unlimited AI tutor conversations, all lessons and exam preparation. The main paid benefit is broader access to tutoring and the complete lesson library, while the annual option is billed yearly rather than monthly. Learners choosing between them should weigh the annual commitment against the monthly plan’s flexibility.
Saylore’s strongest fit is for learners who value guided Italian speaking practice, grammar correction and a progression from beginner to advanced material. Spaced-repetition flashcards add a vocabulary review method, and downloaded lessons can be used offline. The trade-off is a mobile-only experience: the app is available on iOS and Android, with no desktop platform listed. Support is through email. Learners who want a desktop course or more support channels should consider alternatives; those comfortable studying on a phone or tablet may find Saylore’s combination of course structure and AI conversation more relevant.
