Salesforce Field Service review
A broad Salesforce-native field service suite for complex mobile operations.

Salesforce Field Service is a cloud-based field service management platform for organizations that dispatch technicians and other mobile workers. It covers work orders, service appointments, scheduling, dispatching, assets, inventory, preventive maintenance, customer self-service, quoting, invoicing, and payment collection. Its offline-first mobile application supports iOS and Android, while web and API access support broader operations. The product is positioned for mid-market and enterprise organizations in industries such as utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, telecommunications, construction, and home services.
Pricing is structured around distinct roles and editions. The Dispatcher and Technician plans each cost $175 per user per month with annual billing. Dispatcher includes AI-powered scheduling, route optimization, real-time field visibility, and job assignment; Technician adds offline work-order access, field quotes and payment collection, and custom mobile experiences. Contractor Plus costs $80 per user per month annually or $32 per login monthly, with contractor access, performance tracking, and cross-sell capabilities. Field Service Plus costs $230 per user per month annually and combines Dispatcher and Technician functionality with Service Cloud and Sales Cloud. Agentforce 1 Field Service costs $650 per user per month annually and adds AI, unlimited Agentforce usage for employees, additional Salesforce capabilities, and annual Flex and Data Cloud credits.
The strongest fit is a Salesforce-centered organization that needs one system for scheduling, technician mobility, asset and inventory tracking, recurring maintenance, customer appointments, and payments. Integrations with Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Data 360, Slack, Tableau Next, and Experience Cloud support that ecosystem, while Field Service APIs provide developer resources. Offline access and route optimization suit distributed workforces, and customer signatures plus self-service extend the workflow beyond dispatch. Smaller teams or organizations without Salesforce dependencies may find the required Service Cloud license, annual billing on core plans, and starting price harder to justify. Teams seeking a narrower, lower-cost scheduling tool should look elsewhere.
