SailGrib WR review
A sailing-focused Android app combining GRIB forecasts, route planning, charts, and onboard data.

SailGrib WR is an Android weather-routing and navigation app for recreational boaters and inshore or offshore racers. It brings marine forecasts and currents from multiple GRIB sources together with route planning, charts, tides, AIS tracking, and connections to onboard instruments. That makes it a fit for sailors who need weather information in the context of a voyage, rather than people looking for a general daily forecast app.
Route planning is a defining capability: calculations use isochrones and more than 400 included sailboat polars, and users can add custom polars. The app also provides tide predictions and European tidal current atlases, plus marine charts that include free NOAA charts and in-app chart atlases. Navionics Boating chart integration is available to users who already have a license. AIS target tracking includes configurable collision alarms, while NMEA 0183 connections can receive instrument data over USB, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi. Downloaded data can be used offline, a practical fit for trips where connectivity is intermittent.
SailGrib WR is freemium, with Premium options described as providing access to all app features; the standard listing includes monthly, annual, and lifetime purchase options without prices shown there. SailGrib WR Pro is a separate app listed at $149.99 in the US Google Play listing, with regional pricing varying. Choose SailGrib WR if marine routing, onboard conditions, and sailing-specific charts are central to your needs. It is less suitable if you want a broad Android weather app for everyday forecasts, or if your chart workflow depends on Navionics and you do not already hold a license.
