Sage HR is a cloud-based human resources platform for small and medium-sized businesses, particularly organizations with up to 250 employees. Its core capabilities include an employee database for current and historical records, onboarding workflows, electronic document signing, leave requests and approvals, reporting, and employee self-service. Mobile access for employees and managers is available through web, iOS, and Android, making it suitable for teams that need a central HR record alongside everyday workforce administration.

Pricing is modular. Core HR and Leave Management costs $6.50 per employee per month and includes the employee database, leave management, onboarding, and eSignature. Performance, Shift Scheduling, and Timesheets each cost $3.25 per employee per month. Performance adds goals, 360 feedback, surveys, and one-to-one meetings; Shift Scheduling covers shift creation, editing, and employee schedule access; Timesheets includes timesheet tracking, overtime tracking, and clock-in and clock-out. Expenses costs $1.75 per employee per month and includes receipt capture, submissions, and approvals. Recruitment costs $210 per month, while HR Advice Essentials costs $105 per month and adds HR expert support, a training catalog, and handbook creation. A 30-day free trial is available.

The main strength is breadth without requiring every organization to adopt every HR function. Teams can start with records, leave, onboarding, and signatures, then add performance, scheduling, time tracking, expenses, recruitment, or advice as their needs develop. That structure suits businesses seeking modular HR capabilities and mobile self-service. It is less suitable for buyers wanting a free plan or a single all-inclusive price, since several important functions carry separate charges and recruitment and HR advice use fixed monthly pricing. Organizations that need only a narrow HR function may find the broader platform unnecessary, while teams wanting a configurable HR foundation should consider Sage HR.
