Sage Accounting is cloud-based bookkeeping and accounting software for VAT-registered sole traders and small businesses. It brings together bank feeds, transaction reconciliation, invoicing, VAT calculation and submission, receipt capture, cash-flow visibility, payroll, and inventory management. Businesses can access it through web browsers and mobile apps on iOS and Android, with Windows and macOS also supported. Shared access for accountants and bookkeepers makes it suitable for established businesses that want ongoing financial collaboration rather than a basic personal finance tool.

The three plans build from core bookkeeping into broader operational control. Start includes payroll, unlimited sales invoices, transaction reconciliation, VAT calculation and submission, and Making Tax Digital readiness. Standard adds CIS management, custom reports, quotes and estimates, cash-flow forecasting, and receipt and invoice capture. Plus adds budget management, multi-currency invoicing, exchange-rate management, and stock and inventory management. According to the vendor's pricing page, a promotional 90% discount applies for six months; listed monthly amounts are post-promotion figures and exclude VAT. Businesses should compare the higher-tier features with their reporting, forecasting, currency, and stock requirements before choosing a plan.

Mobile capture and automated reconciliation are the product's strongest practical advantages: transactions can be imported from bank feeds, matched automatically, and connected with customer invoice workflows, while receipts and invoices can be captured from mobile devices. Cash-flow dashboards and forecasting add visibility for businesses managing growth, and AI features are included in the product offering. Integrations with AutoEntry, Stripe, and Satago support selected surrounding workflows, though companies needing a wider ecosystem may prefer an alternative. Sage Accounting suits established small businesses that need VAT support, accountant collaboration, and mobile bookkeeping; simpler businesses may find its tiered scope more than they need.
